More than $2.2 billions will be spent in online ads in 2011

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 | Digital Marketing with 1 Comment

Surprising figure? How about this…

That $2.2 billions is only the estimated amount from the pharmaceutical and health care industry alone! The actual total amount of money spent in online ads from all industries will be so much more than this!

That’s how crazy this online thing could get. Everyone’s spending money online! Why do they do that?

Because it works! With targeted traffic, they’re are getting much higher return of investments through their online ads. Either that, or all these big spenders are crazy. I’d go for the first option…

Digital marketing is the new era for any 21st century businesses and those who fail to adapt would definitely lose out. That’s a fact, I know it, these spenders know it and by now, you should know it too.

The Fall of Google.com - Worlds Number One Internet Search Engine

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 | Digital Marketing with 9 Comments

On 17th September 2007, Mark Simon wrote an interesting article called 3 ways Google Could Lose. It’s a great article detailing 3 main reasons that could lead to the fall of Google Inc. - the world’s number 1 Internet search engine corporation.

What I find interesting about the whole article is the fact that out of the three main reasons mentioned, 2 are mainly affected by external factors while reason number 2 (Facebook) is actually a threat from rivals on the Internet.

While Google is the clear leader so far and would most likely be leading all the way to 2017, are advertisers and merchants losing big market shares by not getting their hands wet on social media marketing?

Clearly, social media marketing is growing by the minute and it proves to be a great media space for various businesses. Gone are the days with the mentality that “If you’re not on TV, you’re nothing big”. The way I see it, if you’re not online, you’re lacking way behind.

Anyway, checkout the 3 main reasons he listed down below:

Creative United Movement’s First Creative Gathering

Sunday, September 16th, 2007 | Events with 1 Comment

About a week ago, an old pretty friend of mine invited me to Creative United Movement’s First Creative gathering which was held at a cozy cafe called the Palate Palette located at somewhere near the heart of Kuala Lumpur. I was hesitant to go at first but since I haven’t met my friend for God knows how long, I decided to take the plunge and just be there - I was invited like on the day itself, several hours before the event! I don’t blame her, she was just too busy that she didn’t remember to invite any of her personal friends.

Anyway, from that party, I did enjoy myself and I got to know a lot of people from the creative industry. The highlight of coz would be getting to meet celebrities like Joanna Bessey, artists like Mun Kao, Za-zi, DJs like Blink, Twilight Action Girl and Malaysia’s Diva status stand-up comedian (she was the Emcee), Ms Joanne Kam Poh Poh, who’s famous with her own brand of candid naughty jokes and sexual innuendos.

Branding Malaysia - Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing Makes Us Proud

Sunday, September 16th, 2007 | Breaking News with 3 Comments

It gives me great pleasure to write about this article I read from Malaysia’s top English newspaper. While most top universities or colleges in Malaysia are franchises from abroad, LimKokWing University of Creative Technology is a local breed from Malaysia and they’ve made it big on an international level.

What makes it even more exciting for is the fact that LimKokWing University of Creative Technology is a university that focuses on Creativity! That means, Malaysia’s standard or level of creativity is obviously on an international level. Now that’s something to be proud of for any Malaysians involved in the creative circle.

This is such an inspiration! It’s ultimate proof that when it comes to creativity, Malaysians are able to compete on an international level! Anyway, here’s a glimpse of the article together with a link to the original source…
